Before they were Hokies, they were Gobblers. Before they were VT, they were VPI. Coach Branch Bocock first originated the "Gobblers" nickname in 1909. In 1971, the school appended "Fightin'" to "Gobblers". In 1981, Football Coach and AD Bill Dooley changed the nickname officially to "Hokie. In the same vein, Virginia Tech - officially named Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University - was known as VPI until 1969, when the switch was made to Virginia Tech. My new favorite sweatshirt

I had heard about the quality of Homefield’s crewnecks and this lived up to the hype. It’s buttery soft and ideal for lounging around the house, fall Saturdays outdoors or layering up in winter. I was never really a crewneck sweatshirt wearer until I got this one.

Ridiculously comfortable

Not only was the design cool, but my wife stole this from me within a day due to how comfortable it was. My only complaint would be the neck hole size. I bought a large, and in comparison to the medium size which i have tried on from another school's design, it was weirdly at least a few inches larger/wider, such that it cant be worn by itself, need a shirt underneath.

Homefield overall experience is A+! I ordered the incorrect size (all my fault, not theirs) and returning/exchanging was a snap. They're super responsive on twitter for any questions and not to mention all their gear is amazing. 10/10 WOULD BUY AGAIN.
