George E. Edmondson Jr., or “Mr. Two Bits,” was a long-time fan and unofficial cheerleader for the Florida Gators football team, where he led the "Two Bits cheer" at football games from 1949 until his retirement in 2008.

The Two Bits tradition began randomly at a game in 1949. The Gators had lost five of their last six games the previous year, and fans booed the players and coaches before kickoff. Edmondson decided to boost their morale by leading them in a cheer about adding up bits. The Gators won the game, and fans loved it so much that he came back the next Saturday to do it again.

“Two Bits, Four Bits, Six Bits, a Dollar; All for the Gators, stand up and holler!”

Worth the wait

Great shirt, great design!

Y'all don't know how happy I was when Homefield finally got the Gators, and this shirt immediately called me with its IYKYK design. The shirt is the typical Homefield softness, so there was no real surprises there, but that's a good thing, of course. My shirts were delivered about a week after ordering, which isn't unusual for a Big New Saturday order (THE BIGGEST GO GATORS!) so really all Gators should have this shirt.
