While there is no official award presented, the Triple Crown of Motorsport is widely regarded as the highest achievement in auto racing. McLaren, as a chassis constructor, earned its first jewel of the Triple Crown with Johnny Rutherford’s Indianapolis 500 win in 1974, and its second in Monaco with Alain Prost’s 1984 Monaco Grand Prix victory. In 1995, McLaren secured the Triple Crown achievement, winning 24 Hours of Le Mans with JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas, and Masanori Sekiya.
