During the 1989-90 season, Auburn women's baseball put together yet another strong campaign, finishing second in the SEC regular season. During the SEC tournament, they defeated nationally ranked LSU, Ole Miss, and Pat Summitt's Lady Vols, to win the SEC title and an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. There, the Tigers who say "War Eagle" made it to the national championship game, falling in a narrow loss to Stanford.
