In 1902, Ohio State Glee Club member and student-athlete Fred Cornell could still hear archrival Michigan’s alma mater, The Yellow and Blue, ring out after the Buckeyes' loss in Ann Arbor. On the train ride home, Cornell wrote the lyrics to what would become Carmen Ohio, which translates to “The Song of Ohio.”
