Clemson has been a staple of the playoff era of college football, and arguably their most memorable run at the title came in 2018. The Tigers, led by true freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence, won the ACC and dominated their playoff opponents, Notre Dame and Alabama (the latter of whom they’d see for the third consecutive year in a Playoff game). The Tigers won their third national title – their second title in three years – and the first 15-0 team since Penn in 1897.
