During legendary coach Branch McCracken’s era, the IU men’s basketball team earned the nickname “Hurryin’ Hoosiers” due to their fast-break style of play. The Hoosiers’ legend grew in 1976, when Bob Knight won his first national championship and the team won its third. To this day, the 1975-76 Hoosiers remain the last undefeated National Champion team.
