The story goes that legendary Villanova coach Rollie Massimino told his team they had to play a perfect game in order to beat Georgetown in the 1985 National Championship. In the first year ever for a 64-team NCAA tournament field, the 8-seed Wildcats completed their Cinderella run to the title by shooting a record 78.6% as a team for the game (22 for 28, including 9 for 10 in the second half) against the heavily favored 1-seed Georgetown Hoyas. Ed Pinckney led Villanova to a 66-64 victory in what has been called the greatest upset in college basketball history and one of the biggest upsets ever in sports history.

Comfy and stylish

As with all Homefield shirts, this is perfectly sized and comfortable. You get what you pay for and as is the case it’s a high quality shirt. I own a lot of Homefield shirts but this is one of my favorites due to the design. It really pops, the shade of blue is very distinct and I got multiple compliments while on Zoom calls from folks. Simply put its just a really nice, unique shirt and with the quality I am looking forward to wearing it for many years to come.
