The 79th running of the Indianapolis 500 lived up to the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" nickname. Race leader Scott Goodyear was assessed a stop-and-go penalty after passing the pace car on a restart, but refused to serve it. The victory then went to Jacques Villeneuve, who overcame a two-lap penalty of his own; his win became known as the "Indy 505." It all happened, of course, in our beloved Speedway, Indiana.
