Auburn’s official mascot is Aubie the Tiger, but they still honor their “War Eagle” motto with a live golden eagle that lives on campus. While there are seven known War Eagles, including Aurea, their current live-in symbol, War Eagle I (who may or may not be fictional) is said to have inspired the battle cry and tradition.
