In their 1968 football game against hated rival Michigan, Ohio State went for a late two-point conversion attempt in a 50-14 blowout win. After the victory that gave the Buckeyes the Big Ten title on their way to the national championship, OSU head coach Woody Hayes was asked why he went for two when the game was practically over. His hatred for “that team up north” was so deep that his legendary response was, “Because I couldn’t go for three.”
