In 1980, the Boise State Broncos made it to the top of I-AA football, winning the Big Sky conference and becoming National Champions. Despite three losses on the year, Boise State showed their grit through the I-AA Playoffs, including during not one, but two fog-filled games against Grambling State and Eastern Kentucky. 1980 would be the Broncos’ only win in the I-AA Playoffs; the team moved up to Division I-A (FBS) football in 1996, where they remain to this day.
