It’s perhaps the most well known play in Boise State football history and symbolizes one of the most exciting college football games of all time. After a perfect 12-0 regular season (and BSU’s fifth straight WAC championship), Boise State was matched up with the favored Oklahoma Sooners in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. With the Broncos down a point, QB Jared Zabransky faked a throw before tucking the ball behind his back in a handoff to his All-American RB Ian Johnson. Johnson capped off the most famous Statue of Liberty play ever with his run into the end zone for two points and an iconic 43-42 victory. Adding to the celebration, Johnson proposed to his BSU cheerleader girlfriend in the postgame interview on national television. She accepted.
