The Buffaloes got their permanent nickname in 1934, when the CU student newspaper, Silver & Gold, sponsored a national contest to find a new name. When the newspaper declared “Buffaloes” the winner, several other similar nicknames came about, including the Bisons, Golden Buffaloes, Golden Avalanche, and (of course) the Buffs. Products are mocked up on a size S. Graphics may appear smaller on larger sizes.
