Though it’s one of UGA’s more recent traditions, “Light Up Sanford” has sealed its place in Georgia football lore. Via social media, a student suggested that, for the final quarter of the final home game, Georgia students turn their phone flashlights on to shower Sanford Stadium in light. This caught the attention of members of the Redcoat band, who made a further push for lighting up Sanford that gained rapid momentum. Flash forward (no pun intended), and “Light Up Sanford'' is a staple of night games in Athens.
