In the 1980s, human mascots replaced live bulldogs at Gonzaga. Student Mike Griffin wore a cape and called himself “Captain Zag” from 1980-82. A few students kept the tradition going until 1985, when the first human bulldog mascot—soon known as “Spike”—made an appearance. Celebrate the long and storied Gonzaga mascot history in this comfortable baseball tee.
