On March 26, 1979, the Michigan State Spartans and Indiana State Sycamores played a national championship game that would shape basketball for decades. The otherwise-undefeated Sycamores fell to the Spartans, but are still considered Indiana State’s greatest team of all time. The game also sparked the rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, which would last through their Hall of Fame NBA careers. To commemorate the earth-shattering battle of basketball giants, we recreated the Sycamores’ 1970s shooting shirts made famous in the Bird era.
