In 1909, entrepreneur Carl G. Fisher envisioned an automobile racetrack that would rival those he saw in Europe a few years prior. When the ambitious project was finished – smaller than what Fisher wanted, but still featuring a massive, 2.5-mile oval track – crowds flocked to see racing and speed trials, and haven’t stopped attending racing spectacles ever since. This trucker hat is a nod to the speedway and the 500-mile race it hosts every year -- you know the one.
