From 1973 to 1979, New Mexico experimented with turquoise as an official athletics color, in addition to their cherry and silver colors that represent sunsets in the Sandia Mountains. UNM Athletics paired the turquoise with this logo; the logo stuck around until 1999. This turquoise, two-toned dad hat is our take on this unique era in Lobos history.
