North Florida first joined the NAIA in 1983, eventually moving to NCAA Division II in the 1990s and into Division I in 2005. Though their sports history is relatively recent, the Ospreys have swooped into college athletics, gaining attention with their Yankees-esque baseball logo through the ‘80s and ‘90s, as well as from the men’s basketball team’s appearance in the 2015 NCAA tournament.
