On February 18, 1951, Ohio State athletics hired Wayne Woodrow "Woody" Hayes as the Buckeyes' next football coach. An ascendant name in the coaching scene, Hayes had two successful stops at Denison and Miami before taking the helm in Columbus. 75 years later, his name is synonymous with The Ohio State University, leading the Buckeyes to five national championships, countless quotes and memorable wins, and a 16-11-1 record against That Team Up North.
