Pepperdine has personified its Wave mascot in various live and illustrated versions, but for this design, we’re celebrating Pepperdine’s original raging ripple. Roland, a name derived from their “Roll on, you Waves!” chant, made his debut in a university publication in 1945, and served as their mascot until the student body chose a pelican mascot in 1951.
