Purdue Pete evolved from bookstore mascot to full-fledged live mascot at athletic events in the mid-1940s. Art Evans, who designed other iconic mascots of the era, brought Pete to life in this vintage illustration. He’s featured here on our retro bomber jacket, paired with a classic, arched “Purdue” reminiscent of Boilermakers basketball jerseys.
