This "Speed City Spartans" design is reminiscent of vintage, customizable physical education gear, and celebrates the many track and field Olympians who gave San José State their famous nickname. Willie Steele was the first Spartan to earn gold in 1948, and 20 years later, Lee Evans, Tommie Smith, and John Carlos brought both their talents and social activism to the 1968 Games.
