One of the most recognizable mascots in the nation, the original Bevo was presented to the UT student body on Thanksgiving Day in 1916. With the halftime score tied 7-7 against rival Texas A&M, the longhorn steer was introduced to a packed stadium of 15,000 at Clark Field. The Longhorns returned two punts for touchdowns in the second half to run away with a 21-7 victory.
