In 1971, the Southwest Conference restricted travel for live animal mascots to away games, meaning Texas Tech would be away from home without the Masked Rider. Because of this, Jim Gaspard, a member of the Saddle Tramps spirit group, brought Dirk West’s renditions of Raider Red to life so the Red Raiders would have an away game mascot. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault. Products are mocked up on a size S. Graphics may appear smaller on larger sizes.
