UIC has had three official dragon mascots in the past 30 years. Sparky D. Dragon came first, alongside Sparky Junior, who both retired in 2020. The new Sparky debuted soon after, with a few upgrades to his look. At his core, though, Sparky has always been fire engine red with navy blue accents, proudly representing his home city of Chicago.
