The Tar Heels won the 1993 NCAA Tournament with their tremendous talent, of course, but a fortuitous timeout call helped swing the dying seconds of the game in their favor. The Tar Heels only had a two-point lead on Michigan when Chris Webber snagged the rebound off of Phil Sullivan’s missed free throw. Soon after, Webber called for a timeout the Wolverines didn’t have, earning a technical foul. Donald Williams nailed the awarded shots plus two more points, sealing UNC’s fourth national title.
