Vintage Georgia Between the Hedges T-Shirt
- Free exchanges
Coined by legendary sports writer Grantland Rice in the 1930s, games at Sanford Stadium are said to be played “between the hedges” due to the field being surrounded by English privet hedges, part of the stadium since it hosted its first game against Yale in 1929. Today, PA announcer Brook Whitmire will get the Georgia crowd on its feet by saying, "It's Saturday afternoon in Athens, and it's time to tee it up between the hedges." This t-shirt was made to wear on a perfect Saturday in Athens.
