Vintage Kansas Relays Track T-Shirt

Former Kansas football coach John Outland was an All-American tackle and halfback for the University of Pennsylvania and wanted to bring a track and field event like the Penn Relays to Kansas. With the help of Athletic Director Phog Allen and Jayhawks track coach Karl Schlademan, he brought the Kansas Relays to life in 1923. Often drawing top high school and collegiate competitors for the annual three-day meet in April, the Kansas Relays have also brought Olympians such as Maurice Green and Marion Jones to Lawrence.
