Former Kansas football coach John Outland was an All-American tackle and halfback for the University of Pennsylvania and wanted to bring a track and field event like the Penn Relays to Kansas. With the help of Athletic Director Phog Allen and Jayhawks track coach Karl Schlademan, he brought the Kansas Relays to life in 1923. Often drawing top high school and collegiate competitors for the annual three-day meet in April, the Kansas Relays have also brought Olympians such as Maurice Green and Marion Jones to Lawrence.

Celebrate the Kansas Relays

As a former Track and Field manager, I appreciate Homefield making a Kansas Relays shirt. Love seeing the Warhawk and can't wait to wear this to the Relays this year

Kansas Relays

this is my favorite of the Mystery Box drops I have received. They're all good, but the bird is a Cute Lil Guy!

Not a Jayhawks fan, but I do love Relays!

Seeing a design for a track event is what drew me in. The color and design are what sold me. This is my 11th Homefield shirt, and I'm not stopping yet!
