The 1927 University of Miami football team held a meeting to select the name “Hurricanes” Some say the nickname was based on the team’s first-ever game being postponed by a hurricane in 1926. However, it may have also been based on the idea they could sweep away opponents like a hurricane could. This particular design was found on a vintage decal, and we’ve now made it wearable.
