We found this illustration of Purdue Pete on the football team’s tickets in 1977. While 1977 wasn’t quite the Boilermakers’ year, as Jim Young was getting his footing in his first year coaching the program, the team did a full 180 in 1978, going 9-2-1 and defeating Georgia Tech in the Peach Bowl.
