UCLA was established in 1919 when the Los Angeles Normal School became the Southern Branch of the University of California. The institution expanded so rapidly through the 1920s that the school soon had outgrown their 25 acre campus. In 1926, the Southern Branch adopted the nickname “the Bruins” and one year later was renamed “The University of California at Los Angeles” and began construction at a new location in Westwood. Since then, UCLA has been home to legendary athletes, musicians, and filmmakers–without a doubt earning their motto “Champions Made Here.”

Championship Sweatshirt Made Here

This was the first Homefield sweatshirt that I purchased and I love it! I'm a diehard Bruin fan and as a result, own a lot of Bruin apparel. Consider that UCLA attracts top apparel brands and collaborations, and Homefield is one of these brands. As you might imagine, I've sifted through a lot of Bruin gear and a lot of stuff out there is either is feels bland or the quality is "just ok". Aside from getting our classic "UCLA" sweatshirt/hoodie, this one has a nice vintage graphic, blended with a more modern catchphrase "champions made here", a fashionable combination of colors (after a while you can only get so many predominantly blue or white UCLA apparel pieces) and a nice fabric blend (I don't care for the poly, but the predominant use of cotton and a touch of rayon for softness gives it a great feel). Since this purchase I've confidently made a few more Homefield purchases.
