Since 1962, Cassell Coliseum has been home to Virginia Tech’s premier arena sports, including both men’s and women’s basketball. The Coliseum was named for Stuart K. Cassell in 1977, and students and fans have built traditions on the name ever since – Virginia Tech teams are tasked with “defending the Cassell,” and their student section is known as the Cassell Guard. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault.
