During the 1989 season, teams in the ACC needed to watch out for the Wahoos. Virginia only lost two games in the regular season, in a stacked schedule full of ranked opponents. Though they fell just short in their postseason tilt against Illinois, the Hoos earned the 1989 ACC title.
