This WVU logo paired with an outline of (almost Heaven) West Virginia was used from 1970 to 1980, most famously on their football helmets. Coincidentally, the logo was in use when “Take Me Home, Country Roads” debuted in 1971. The song was added to the Mountaineer Marching Band routine in 1972, and serves as the official university theme song. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault.
