I don't believe it!” The call by Brent Musberger is almost as memorable as the play itself. In what became known as the “Miracle in Miami,” Boston College beat the defending national champion University of Miami at the Orange Bowl in 1984 with a Hail Mary pass by QB Doug Flutie to Gerard Phelan in the end zone with no time left on the clock. Flutie would go on to win the Heisman Trophy that season on the strength of that legendary play, one of the most famous plays in college football history.
