Every time the Texas Longhorns score, you’ll hear the Longhorn Band strike up “Texas Fight,” the university’s official fight song. Col. Walter S. Hunnicut and James E. King, the two men who collaborated to create “Texas Fight,” cited rival Texas A&M for their fight song inspiration. Hunnicut felt that “Texas Fight” was an “effective way to strike back” against the jabs of “Farmers Fight” and other jeers from the archrival Aggies.
