This Cavalier face logo was used from 1984-1994; local designers Jim Gibson and Charles Peale brought this interpretation of Virginia's mascot to life. Virginia has long been associated with Cavaliers -- mounted swordsmen who represented bravery and civil society in the burgeoning English colony. They were largely fictional, but they came to represent bravery and distinction throughout Virginia's history. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault.
