The Omaha Project: A Coastal Carolina Heavy Hitter
Coastal Carolina, welcome to the Homefield team.
Hey, Chants fans. We're Homefield. It's been a long time coming, but rest assured, we'll be fast friends.
For seven years, we've built Homefield on our love of the game and our willingness to take big swings. We've innovated how collegiate apparel looks and feels because we wanted better for ourselves and fellow fans. When we ventured into premium apparel, like our bomber jackets and hats, we designed with intention, to hand the same quality of gear down to our kids and grandkids that our parents and grandparents gave us. Most recently, with our Project Series, we've raised the standards for made-to-order manufacturing because we want to tell college sports' greatest stories, and do it our way.
The years of precision, care, and constant tuning of our craft all come together for our home-run, Coastal Carolina debut: The Omaha Project.
We've been developing a pullover inspired by Coastal Carolina baseball's 2016 national championship jersey, with some high-quality Homefield flourishes to knock it out of the park. As the 2025 Chants' postseason reaches another fever pitch, you can become a founding patron of The Omaha Project (which also serves as the first piece in our Coastal Carolina collaboration!) by reserving your jersey now. In the meantime, let us give you a glimpse into our inspiration, and where the projest rests right now.
Coastal Carolina Baseball: CWS Darlings
At the start of the 2016 NCAA college baseball season, Coastal Carolina had earned the respect of some national preseason polls, or had been just barely left out of others, after an appearance in the 2015 College Station Regionals. As 2016 progressed, however, it became clear that the Chants meant business; they dominated the Big South conference in both regular season and tournament play, winning an automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Tournament. There, the Chanticleers earned their spot in the 2016 College World Series through a competitive Baton Rouge Super Regional, defeating two No. 1 seeds (NC State and LSU) along the way. It would be the team's first-ever College World Series appearance.
Making the College World Series for the first time wasn't enough history for the Chants -- this electric team wanted it all. The team stunned the Florida Gators and avoided elimination at the hands of Texas Tech, all to then avenge their round two loss to TCU. The taste of victory drew nearer for Gary Gilmore's team, with only their soon-to-be rivals left in the way.
The Arizona Wildcats made an unexpected push through the postseason, from a fourth-place finish in the Pac-12 to winning the Starkville Super Regional. Through their own tough bracket of the College World Series, the Wildcats would prove worthy adversaries to the Chanticleers as both unlikely finalists began their CWS best-of-three. The Chanticleers would drop Game One, but win their final two games to defeat the insurgent Wildcats for their first national championship in any sport. (After the 2016 College World Series final, the rivalry forged between these two teams continued into the next decade, and still exists today.)
Now, the Chanticleers are making yet another splash in college baseball, returning to Omaha with the same kind of swagger they had in 2016. In Kevin Schnall's first season coaching the Chants, the team is oh-so-close to making history yet again.

The Omaha Project: A Fitting Homefield Debut
Since that 2016 Coastal squad was full of firsts, it makes sense that our first Coastal Carolina collaboration would celebrate such a pioneering team. Our challenge for the Omaha Project is not just to create an incredible Chants keepsake, but to also reward the patience of Coastal Carolina fans who've followed us long before our partnership with CCU began.
Based on current project progress, we're confident that every part of this will be worth that wait. We took the model of our much-loved baseball pullover -- jersey-weight fabric, multicolor ribbed cuffs, near-replica appliqué and embroidery -- and upped the volume several notches. The jersey is our foray into sublimated prints, to capture the precise vibe of the 2016 original. It's also our first pullover with appliqué numbering for a true uniform vibe (No. 16 for '16, of course), and one of only two officially licensed NCAA College World Series pullovers we offer.
Of course, the Omaha Project is only the beginning. Our full Coastal Carolina collection will be here before you know it. With Coastal only a few more games away from another title, though, we couldn't wait to reveal this project and give Chants fans what you deserve. It's our most ambitious first release ever, for a team that demands this kind of ovation.

Reserve Yours
From now until Coastal Carolina's final game of the season, become a founding patron of the Coastal Carolina Omaha Project. We anticipate your pullovers arriving sometime in fall, with more clarity as we move through project phases.
We can't wait to make this for you and have Coastal Carolina an official member of the Homefield team. In the meantime, it's onward to Omaha once again.
